Social Media Services for Authors and Publishers

If you’re an author, you’d likely rather be writing than taking photos of your books for Instagram, finding articles to tweet about on Twitter, or figuring out how to set up your Goodreads author profile. But you can’t abandon social media completely—author platform is an important part of connecting with readers.

I can help.

I’m experienced in connecting readers and authors through social media. I’ve done it for authors, publishers, and literary magazines.

I can help you optimize your social media profiles by updating your photos, bio, and links so that when readers find you, they know what you write and how to buy your book.

I can also help you engage your audience of readers over weeks or months by writing and creating content, scheduling it to post to your accounts, and engaging your audience members on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. You’ll see increased engagement on social media, which leads to greater brand awareness and new readers.

My rates for social media services for authors start at $55 per hour. I am most interested in working with authors who write poetry, literary fiction, commercial fiction, women’s fiction, and niche nonfiction topics (including memoir). Check out my portfolio of social media work below, then let’s talk about how I can help you.

Social media manager for literary magazine Capsule Stories—February 2019 to present

I run social media accounts for the literary magazine Capsule Stories Stories on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. I write and schedule posts, create social media campaigns to promote new editions and calls for submissions, and engage with readers and contributors.

Goodreads author profile and tweets for self-published author—November 2018

I created and optimized a Goodreads author account for a self-published author before their book launch, including adding a photo, bio, links, quotes from their book, and favorite books. I also wrote and scheduled tweets for their book launch in November 2018, which landed the book at #23 in the Fatherhood category on Amazon.

Social media for author Erica Obey—August 2016 to November 2017

I managed author Erica Obey’s social media accounts on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. I also set up her Goodreads and Amazon author profiles. I created and scheduled posts to promote her two most recent books, The Lazarus Vector and The Curse of the Braddock Brides, and curated content to share with her audience of readers and writers.

Social media internships, Pen & Publish, Inc. and Amphorae Publishing—May 2016 to August 2016

I worked on social media accounts for Amphorae Publishing and Pen & Publish, Inc.’s two imprints, Open Books Press and Brick Mantel Books. I wrote, scheduled, and posted content to their Twitter accounts, Instagram accounts, and Facebook accounts. I also increased engagement and the number of followers on all accounts. My social media marketing of Amphorae’s The Christos Mosaic landed the book on Amazon’s bestsellers list.

CUNE Sigma Tau social media manager, Concordia University, Seward, NE—August 2015 to May 2017

I created social media pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for my English honor society chapter of Sigma Tau Delta in the fall of 2015. No previous social media accounts for our chapter of Sigma Tau Delta existed, so I was faced with the challenges of determining the objectives of these social media accounts, figuring out who Sigma Tau’s audience was, and building an audience. I maintained these accounts from August 2015 to May 2017. I also ran a social media takeover of Sigma Tau Delta’s Instagram and Twitter accounts for our chapter’s Christmas party.
