Social media experience
I do freelance social media for author Erica Obey, run social media accounts for my campus’ chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, and did social media for two publishing companies in summer 2016.
Freelance social media, author Erica Obey—August 2016 to present
I do freelance social media for author Erica Obey promoting her book The Lazarus Vector and her upcoming book The Curse of the Braddock Brides. I write, schedule, and post content on her Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
Social media internships, Pen & Publish, Inc. and Amphorae Publishing—May 2016 to August 2016
I worked on social media accounts for Amphorae Publishing and Pen & Publish, Inc.’s two imprints, Open Books Press and Brick Mantel Books. I wrote, scheduled, and posted content to their Twitter accounts, Instagram accounts, and Facebook accounts. My social media marketing of Amphorae’s The Christos Mosaic landed the book on Amazon’s bestsellers list.
Sigma Tau social media, Concordia University, Seward, NE—August 2015 to present
I created social media pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for my English honor society Sigma Tau Delta in the fall of 2015. No previous social media accounts for our chapter of Sigma Tau Delta existed, so I faced with the challenges of determining the objectives of these social media accounts, figuring out who Sigma Tau’s audience was, and building an audience. I have maintained these accounts since August 2015. I also ran a social media celebrity takeover of Sigma Tau Delta’s accounts for our chapter’s Christmas party.
Journalistic Editing class project, Concordia University, Seward, NE—Fall 2015
For three weeks, I tweeted, retweeted, and replied from my personal Twitter account about the publishing industry with the hashtag #cu25001 for my Journalistic editing class. The purpose was to familiarize myself with how journalists and people in the publishing industry use Twitter and join in.
